Smoked freshwater eel is a gourmet delicacy crafted with time-honored techniques. The fresh eel is cured with salt and then smoked over oak wood. This slow smoking process infuses the eel with a deep, smoky flavor and a velvety, melt-in-the-mouth texture.
It is best enjoyed with some dark bread and a bit of lemon juice as a starter or as part of a salad. Delicious.

Smoked Freshwater Eel Top Notch

As someone from a place abroad traditionally known for some of the best smoked eel in the world, Ardshealach’s eel was very good indeed. The texture was great and the taste was subtle and not over baring. The texture could be slightly softer ( but this could be due to the size/ age of the eel) and some could prefer a somewhat smokier hint. Overall the best I ve tasted in the UK so far.

GENERAL SHIPPING POLICY

UK Mainland Orders

We will usually dispatch your order by our preferred courier 2 – 3 working days of receiving it. Please allow extra time during busy periods, such as Christmas. Delivery can be made Tuesday to Friday. If you like delivery on a specific day, please let us know as this can usually be arranged. We usually do not dispatch on Friday or Saturday, to avoid parcels being in transit over the weekend. All consignments are packed in insulated boxes with ice packs to ensure that goods are kept cool throughout the journey.

  • FREE for orders over £ 150.00 ( to a single address )
  • £ 7.95 for orders of up to £ 150.00 ( to a single address )
  • £ 9.95 for orders placed over the phone ( to a single address ) and orders below £ 20.00

OVERSEAS ORDERING

We no longer accept orders that are to be sent abroad, due to the perishable nature of our products and the lack of control we have in ensuring they arrive in good condition.

Returns and non-delivery

Ardshealach Fine Foods cannot be held liable for packages which were not delivered or misrouted due to an incomplete or incorrect address given by the customer.
